Arapahoe Basin in Colorado is set to open this Friday!
Wait, that’s Friday the 13th… in October!
Who cares!? It’s the ski season and an official opening day is nothing but good luck for all of the skiers and riders looking to hit the slopes!

The first chair heads up the mountain at 9 am. For those in the know, the one lift will be Black Mountain Express.
But if you’re hoping to catch the first chair of the year, you better get in line now! In past years, die-hard shredders have been known to arrive on location almost 3 days in advance!
It Gets Better
Rumor has it, all this cold weather and early snow might actually help the folks at the Basin open a second run post haste!

I don’t think I could forecast a better opening day if I tried!
The only drawback is that it’ll be a bit on the windy side. Winds will be around 20 mph with gusts even higher on Friday and Saturday.
If you wait until Monday to get those first turns of the season, not only will the lines die down– but the wind as well.
