Q&A with Jessica Rivera

What is your most memorable weather experience?
My most memorable weather experience is my first experience storm chasing. I would have never thought in a million years I would enjoy it because I have little patience and do not like adrenaline rushes. I am what you call a "worrier" of what could go wrong. I went out with our own Severe Weather Expert, David Neal. I trusted him and his experience and knew I was in good hands, it ended up being a great time. We caught a funnel cloud in Keenesburg, CO. and that was good enough for me. I now understand how people get bitten by the "storm chasing" bug.
Besides your parents who has influenced you the most in your life?
Besides my parents, I would have to say that God has influenced me the most in my life. I try my hardest to be the best person I can be day in and day out. I fail a lot, but at the end of the day I answer to Him, and knowing this keeps me grounded and in check.
What is a little known fact about you?
A little known fact about me is that I love Christmas music year round. I start listening to them the day after Halloween!
What are your hopes and dreams for the profession of weather?
My hopes and dreams for the profession of weather is that I will be an On-Camera Meteorologist and make a great career of informing people about weather and keeping them safe during severe weather.
