A deep blast of cold air has pushed all the way to the southern reaches of the country, with Freeze Warnings from Florida to Texas. Temperatures are expected to drop well below freezing tonight, into the 20s, all the way to the Gulf of Mexico. A strong area of high pressure has building across the South and Southeast, bringing in the unseasonably cold temperatures. With a deep trough in the upper levels of the atmosphere, the cold air is expected to stick around for a couple of days with some moderation later this week.
