Flooding Concerns Across the Middle Atlantic
Heavy rain has been moving through the Middle Atlantic and more showers and thunderstorms are in the forecast through Friday. A Flash Flood Watch continues for parts of Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Ohio, including Washington, D.C. 1″ to 3″ of rain is possible by Friday evening that could produce produce flooding problems, especially in areas that have seen excessive rainfall already today.
A low pressure center moving along a stationary front has been producing showers and thunderstorms. More storms are expected to develop along the front and near the slow moving low throughout the day.
As the low move offshore, showers and thunderstorms will diminish. The front will linger around the area as as second low and cold front approaches from the West. This will likely bring another round of rain to the region before a drying trend into this weekend.
