Severe Weather Possible in the Ohio Valley Tonight, Lower Chances This Weekend

7 Jul 2017, 2:55 pm

An enhanced risk for severe thunderstorms continues through tonight in the Ohio Valley. Severe Thunderstorm Watches are in effect for the region with several strong thunderstorms in the area already.

The tornado risk remains low today, with large hail and strong wind gusts as the biggest concerns.

A cold front is pushing slowly south through the region. Strong to severe thunderstorms will continue this evening along the front, with activity expected to diminish in the overnight.

The threat for severe weather is less for this weekend as the cold front starts to weaken. There is a marginal risk along the front for Saturday and Sunday.
