Tropical Storm Rina forms in the Atlantic Monday evening. The National Hurricane Center (NHC) upgraded Tropical Depression Nineteen to tropical storm status with sustained winds around 40mph at 10pm est. At this time, Rina was located about 890 miles east of Bermuda or about 1,405 mile west of the Azores. (30.4°N latitude – 49.9°W longitude)
Some strengthening is expected before Rina becomes extra-tropical over the next few days.
Its movement north at 7 mph should keep it over open water for the next 5 days.
