A Late Taste of Summer for Much of the Country
you might want to break out the swimsuits one more time from Denver to Boston. It’s going to feel a lot more like summer, than fall, this weekend across a huge chunk of the country.
A massive ridge of high pressure will keep cooler, more fall-like Canadian air locked way off to the North. Leading to temperatures soaring into the 80s for most of the country for the weekend.
Denver starts off the warmer trend with temperatures near 90 for Friday and Saturday, and that warmth moves into Minneapolis, Chicago and Detroit, where temperatures will come close to and perhaps even eclipse 80 (the best chance for warmer weather, of course, will be further away from the water), and behind a big coastal low temperatures immediately rebound into the 80s from New York City on down into Washington, D.C. for the weekend.
The heat could last a little while longer as the National Weather Service 8-14 day outlook keeps the warmth through most of the northern portions of the region into late next week (and the start of October).
Enjoy the warmth while it lasts- this will probably be the last time temperatures get this warm for many of you until next spring or summer!
