A Slice of Fall in the Middle of Summer? We’ll Take Some of That!
Summer 2014 hasn’t been a benchmark for hot weather, but the last couple of weeks have been hot for parts of the Plains, the East Coast and the interior Pacific Northwest. But some locations, in the Upper Midwest and Great Lakes, might be getting an early taste of Fall next week.
A number of different weather models are now indicating that a cool shot of air is likely for parts of the Upper Midwest and Great Lakes. Typically, this time of year, places like Minneapolis, Chicago and Detroit post highs in the low to mid-80s. But next week, highs in those areas are likely to be more October-like. It’ll also be rather cool in the mornings as lows drop into the low to mid-50s for a lot of locations.
So while some of you are basking in cool, crisp air, the rest of us will be
insanely jealous sweating it out in the baking heat.
Check out the images below that show the shot of cool air through the first part of next week.
Unfortunately, the cooler air will be short-lived; by the end of the week, temperatures will be closer to seasonal averages. So, enjoy the cooler weather while it lasts.
