Active weather is in the forecast for the Pacific Northwest over the next few days. Times of heavy rain and even thunderstorms can be expected through the work week and into the weekend.
Heavy Rain Set-Up and Timing
There will be 2 weather makers this week. The first will be a cold front pushing onshore Wednesday and Thursday.
The second will be another cold front pushing onshore by Thursday night. This cold front should help generate showers into the weekend.
The main threat will be the heavy rain leading to some areas of flash flooding. Especially the areas that have already seen some heavy rain over the past week. Also, there could be a few thunderstorms…the severe risk will be low, but still a strong storm or two can’t be completely ruled out.
Rainfall totals could exceed 3 inches in some areas through Friday morning. You can also see some heavy snow accumulation in the higher elevations.
