Several feet of snow has been dumped on the Northeast over the last 24 hours. Some areas have seen nearly 3 feet of snow. The Nor’easter produced blizzard conditions in the region, creating widespread travel issues. The highest totals were found in New York, with Binghamton setting a new 24 hour snowfall record.
More than 2 feet of snow fell in Pennsylvania and Vermont.
Accumulations were well over a foot in most locations throughout New England. Additional snowfall totals are possible today.
Another foot of snow is possible in Upstate New York, Northern Vermont and New Hampshire as the Nor’easter spins across the region. Winter Storm Warnings continue from Maine to Ohio as a wind swept snow continues to fall.
The wind has been howling across the region with gusts approaching 50 mph. Wind Advisories remain in effect for the areas where snow has finished.
The Nor’easter will slowly push out of the region this evening and snowfall will become scattered. The wind will remain strong into Thursday as the low pushes into Canada.
