August to October Forecast from the Climate Prediction Center
The August to October outlook was issued recently from the Climate Prediction Center and it is calling for much above average temperatures across the country, especially in the Northern Rockies, Eastern Seaboard, and along the Gulf of Mexico. Wetter than normal conditions are forecast for the South and Southwest, with drier than average weather in the Pacific Northwest. Below average temperatures for the 90 day period are not in the forecast anywhere in the nation.

The Climate Prediction Center states that the EL Nino or La Nina will not be a factor since Pacific Ocean water temperatures are in a neutral state and are expected to remain neutral over the next 3 months. The outlook was based primarily on decadal trends, forecast model guidance, and statistical tools.
