Big Storm Next Week: Rain & Snow Potential

13 Nov 2013, 11:05 am

Well, it’s winter – or at least it has felt like it the past few days.

That does lead to amazing shots like this one:

How about that?  A pretty amazing shot.  Snow is a big story in the extended forecast – as is the chance for larger quantities of rainfall.

We’re watching a storm system that is moving through the northernmost stretches of the northern hemisphere that will turn into a HUGE storm (or at least could) by early next week.

A secondary little piece of energy could help this system grow, as well.  That would be lingering over the Rockies by the end of the week.

Look at how the system *COULD* look by Sunday night to Monday morning:

Look at all of that moisture.  See all the green/yellow/red shaded areas?  Those indicate model forecasted precipitation.  Now, keep in mind – this system is still a ways away, with the bulk of rain & possible snow coming Sunday night to early next week.

Stay tuned the next few days!
