Well, it’s winter – or at least it has felt like it the past few days.
That does lead to amazing shots like this one:

How about that? A pretty amazing shot. Snow is a big story in the extended forecast – as is the chance for larger quantities of rainfall.
We’re watching a storm system that is moving through the northernmost stretches of the northern hemisphere that will turn into a HUGE storm (or at least could) by early next week.

A secondary little piece of energy could help this system grow, as well. That would be lingering over the Rockies by the end of the week.
Look at how the system *COULD* look by Sunday night to Monday morning:

Look at all of that moisture. See all the green/yellow/red shaded areas? Those indicate model forecasted precipitation. Now, keep in mind – this system is still a ways away, with the bulk of rain & possible snow coming Sunday night to early next week.
