While many areas of the country have been experiencing Spring-like weather conditions, that is not the case in North Dakota. Blizzard conditions have been reported in the north central part of the state with heavy snow and strong winds. Near zero visibility has been reported near Minot.

Blizzard Warnings continue for parts of North Dakota into Tuesday morning. Wind gusts above 50 mph along with 4″ to 8″ of snow will make travel treacherous, if not impossible at times.

Heavy snow also continues in the mountains of the West. Several waves of moisture will push into the Pacific Northwest this week, keeping the heavy snow falling. Winter Storm Warnings are in effect for the Cascades and also the higher elevations of Northern Idaho. Many mountain ranges in the west will see several feet of snow by the end of this week.
As moisture pushes in from the Pacific Ocean, accumulations will increase tonight through Tuesday. A low pressure center will bring additional snowfall tomorrow night.
Behind the first low, snow will diminish slightly on Wednesday, but increase again on Thursday as another low slams into the coast.
