The snow is expected to taper by early Sunday for the Sierra Nevada range with quieter weather expected to start the new week. More snow may fall for the western mountains again Wednesday or Thursday of the upcoming week.
This has been an incredible year for moisture and snowfall across the Sierra Nevada range with nearly 200-300% of normal precipitation in the past 365 days. Certainly making up for lost time, following a nearly decade long drought.
