It’s about to Be a Cold, Wet Weekend for Some
A storm system is making it’s way from the South to the Northeast dropping significant rain in most areas. Flood Watches and Flash Flood Watches are in effect from the Lower Mississippi Valley through the Ohio River Valley, on up into parts of the Northeast. The watches are for the possibility of flooding around local rivers and streams and the usual flood prone areas. More than an inch of rain is likely for many as the system moves through.
The system in the south will combine with one to the north to help make the first half of the weekend a wet one for much of the East Coast. But it’s not just rain with this system. Temperatures will be cold enough for snow throughout New England. Snow will move in Saturday night and end midday Sunday leaving behind a few inches of new snow on the ground for parts of Upstate New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Maine.
