August can be one of the hottest times of the year across the country, but it’s also common to see cooler spells of weather in places too. Temperatures this week for many locations just east of the Rockies will be cool and in places well below what we expect this time of year. One of those places having a summertime cool down is Denver, Colorado.
Brace yourself for more “fall like” temperatures in the Mile High City into the weekend with temperatures slowly increasing from the upper 60’s to the 80’s by the end of the week. The average high for Denver on Aug. 1 is 90 degrees and by the end of the month the average highs are in the mid 80°’s. Monday afternoon temperatures across the Front Range of Colorado will be hard pressed to make it out of the 60’s which for many locations is 20+ degrees below the norm.
If much warmer temperatures are what you’re looking for, head to Phoenix, AZ., where Monday’s high will be nearly 40° warmer than Denver’s.
