Costa Rica’s Turrialba Volcano spewed huge plumes of smoke and ash, following at least four eruptions, prompting authorities to close the capital’s international airport.
According to the Airport:
Juan Santamaría International Airport is closed until further notice as crews clear debris from runways.
“The airport is closed by the presence of volcanic ash on the runway. This closure is effective until further notice.”
