Drone footage posted over the weekend captures the extent of destruction on the Caribbean Island of Sint Maarten wrought by Hurricane Irma on September 6.
The part-French, part-Dutch island, home to a population of 77,000, was left “95 percent destroyed,” according to local authorities, though in this video, many buildings can be seen still standing. Ten people were killed from the storm.
Residents across the region are still cleaning up after Irma. Now, the island is bracing for more impacts from now Category 3 Hurricane Maria.
