Excessive Heat along the Pacific Coast

31 Jul 2017, 2:37 pm

Hot weather is continuing across the west and has spread to the Pacific Ocean coastline. An Excessive Heat Warning has been posted from Seattle to north of the Napa Valley, and also for high deserts of Southern California.

The all time record hottest temperature in Portland is 107 degrees. Readings will be well above the century point for much of the week, approaching 105 Thursday.

The temperature has only climbed into the triple digits three times on record in Seattle. High 90s are likely later this week.

90s will spread across much of the interior West today, with triple digit heat expanding Tuesday.

On Wednesday, the mercury will topple the century point into the Pacific Northwest, with the hottest temperatures expected on Thursday.

The thermometer will climb above 110 degrees this week in Medford and Redding. Highs may hit 115. Readings are likely to drop into this weekend.
