Excessive Heat for the Holiday Weekend in the West
The mercury continues to climb along the West Coast once again today and temperatures will sizzle into this weekend. An Excessive Heat warning remains in effect in portions of Oregon and California. A Heat Advisory extends into Washington. Readings this afternoon will hit highs in the triple digits from Arizona to Oregon.
On Saturday, the thermometer may end up reading a few degrees hotter, especially in interior areas of California. Readings above the century point will be found into Washington.
On Sunday, more triple digit heat will be felt. Although readings won’t be as excessively hot in California, it will be warmer in the Northwest.
It will still be hot on Labor Day, but the excessive heat won’t be found, although 90s will be widespread with some 100s.
