Flash Flooding and Severe Weather Threatens Midwest Overnight

Over four million people are under the risk of severe weather this evening. The threat extends from Nebraska into Wisconsin. Large hail, damaging wind gusts and even an isolated tornado will be possible. A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for portions of Nebraska and Iowa until 2am CDT, and portions of Wisconsin until 1am CDT.

Flash flooding will also be a concern overnight, as storms will be capable of producing 1 to 2 inch per hour rainfall rates. A widespread 2 to 4 inches of rain is expected, with locally higher amounts exceeding 6 inches.
