Tropical Storm Cindy crashed ashore along the Gulf of Mexico coast Thursday morning, sweeping in heavy rainfall throughout the South and Southeast. Rain totals of 6″ to 12″ were found in Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida on the stronger, east side of the storm. A stalled front in the Great Lakes brought heavy rainfall into much of Michigan.
Several inches of rain has fallen over the last 24 hours from the Northeast and Ohio Valley into the Mississippi Delta.
Flash Flood Watches stretch from Upstate New York through the Tennessee Valley. Additional rainfall totals could reach 2″ to 4″ through tonight.
