Flooding Rains, Snow, and Ice Push Into the West
Flooding rains, heavy snow, and areas of ice continue to move through the Western U.S. and more moisture is ahead. The rain, snow, and ice has been creating travel headaches. The Pacific Northwest has been hit hard with ice and flooding.
Ice accumulations have reached as high as a half-inch in Washington and Oregon. Freezing rain coated roadways and surfaces, creating very slippery conditions.
Winter Storm Warnings have been issued for many of the mountain ranges across the west. Totals will likely climb to 1 to 3 feet.
Flood Watches extended throughout the Pacific Northwest into California. 1″ to 2″ has been received already in some areas. Another 3″ to 6″ of rain is possible by this weekend.
The wind will be strong as well, especially tonight into Thursday morning. Wind gusts above 50 mph are possible.
