Officials across the state have been advising residents to evacuate ahead of Hurricane Irma.
Governor Rick Scott urged residents to get a plan and be ready for life-threatening impacts.

“We can rebuild your home, but we can’t rebuild your life,” Scott said in the message.
When asked if Tampa is ready for Irma, Mayor Bob Buckhorn said that this is what they train for all year round.
“One of the blessings of living here is you get the opportunity to train for hurricanes, so we are prepared,” Buckhorn said.
And a view from a Hollywood, Florida beach showed that not everyone has evacuated. One resident told us that she doesn’t plan to evacuate until tomorrow.

Many gas stations have run out of gas around South Florida.
Traffic filled the streets as many continue to leave their homes for higher ground.
