Forecast: Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

22 Nov 2017, 11:42 am

The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade will take place once again this Thanksgiving, Thursday, November 23, 2017, kicking off at 9 AM EST. Its one of the largest, most renown holiday parades in the nation, held in New York City every year, with hundreds of thousands of people in attendance and millions watching via television and the internet.

So, with an event of this magnitude, how is the weather going to play out? Will it be an issue for the parade this year? Should people expect cold, warm or wet conditions?

Overall, the weather look pretty good for the parade. After rain and windy conditions on Wednesday, drier, brighter and cooler weather takes over for Thursday.

New York City forecast for Thanksgiving morning, November 23, 2017

If you are headed out to the parade, expect temperatures in the low 30s, with a mostly sunny to partly cloudy morning for the start of the parade. Jackets and gloves will be needed.

Expect plenty of sunshine with light wind in place for most of the day. Grab the sunglasses.

Temperatures by toward the end of the parade, around noon, will peak in the low 40s, near normal for this time of year. Clouds arrive late in the day.

Enjoy the festivities and Happy Thanksgiving!
