Freezing Temperatures Tonight in the East
Cold temperatures will be felt Thursday Morning from the Ohio Valley into the Mid Atlantic. With clear skies and calm winds, frost will be widespread and freezing temperatures are likely in many areas from Indiana to North Carolina. Freeze Warnings have been issued from Cincinnati to Wilmington.
A strong area of high pressure over the region is bringing the cold readings to the region. A flow from the north around the high is pushing down the freezing temperatures from near Hudson Bay. The high will move into the Northeast Thursday, keeping the cold air around through Friday morning.
Low temperatures tonight will drop into the 30s into Tennessee and North Carolina. 20s will be found in portions of the Ohio Valley into the Northeast.
On Thursday, temperatures will begin to moderate in the Ohio and Tennessee Valley, but the cold air will stick around for the Mid Atlantic into the Northeast.
Some areas along the Eastern Seaboard into North Carolina may still be dealing with a frost and freeze Friday morning. It won’t be as cold as the high pressure area shifts out into the Atlantic Ocean and temperatures will continue to climb Friday afternoon.
