Frost and Freeze Concerns for Nebraska, Kansas Saturday Night
A Frost Advisory will go in to effect across parts of northern Kansas late Saturday and stay active through Sunday morning. Temperatures during this period are forecast to dip in to the low and middle 30s, threatening many outdoor plants. Temperatures this low can cause widespread frost which would damage or even kill any temperature-sensitive outdoor plants.
A Freeze Watch will also go into effect across parts of western Kansas into southwestern Nebraska Saturday night and continue through Sunday morning. Temperatures will likely drop down to the upper 20s and low 30s. Temperatures this low can be even more damaging and deadly to plants, but also threaten any pets and animals left out overnight.
This cold conditions setting up across the region come in the wake a very powerful cold sweeping across the region into the middle of country. This cold front will trigger intense severe weather of the middle of the country late Saturday through early Sunday.
