Up to Golf Ball Sized Hail In Parts of Ohio Saturday

19 Aug 2017, 6:18 pm

Severe thunderstorms moved through parts of Ohio Saturday and dropped up to golf ball size hail in some cities.

Golf ball size hail was reported near New Philadelphia and in Sunbury, hail the size of a half dollar.  Other parts of Ohio saw quarter size hail fall out of the sky.

A severe thunderstorm is defined as a thunderstorm producing hail at least one inch in diameter or larger, and/or wind gusts of 58 mph or greater, and/or a tornado.
