Who Got a White Christmas and Who Didn’t?

25 Dec 2017, 1:46 pm

Did you get a White Christmas? We’ve got a full list of the major U.S. metros that did and didn’t have one this year!

Remember: the official definition of a White Christmas is having at least an inch of snow on the ground. Those clumps of leftover snow in the parking lot, sadly, don’t count.

For simplicity’s sake, we’re listing cities with a realistic chance of having one, because we all know Miami, Los Angeles and Honolulu didn’t have a White Christmas :).

Nice (had a White Christmas):

Minneapolis, MN

Detroit, MI

Chicago, IL

Anchorage, AK

Seattle, WA

Portland, OR

Boise, ID

Salt Lake City, UT

Denver, CO

Omaha, NE

Kansas City, MO

Des Moines, IA

St. Louis, MO

Billings, MT

Albany, NY

Pittsburgh, PA

Cleveland, OH

Indianapolis, IN

Sioux Falls, SD

Fargo, ND

Naughty (did NOT have a White Christmas):

New York City

Philadelphia, PA

Washington, D.C.

Milwaukee, WI

Columbus, OH

Cincinnati, OH

Springfield, MO

Charlotte, NC

Richmond, VA

Tulsa, OK (though you came close!)

Reno, NV

Charleston, WV

Flagstaff, AZ

Merry Christmas, all!
