The Forth Worth Zoo confirms that multiple animals were killed during Tuesday morning’s hail storm.
Avery Elander, PR Manger of Fort Worth Zoo told WeatherNation that four or five flamingos were killed, one pelican and multiple ducks. She went on to note that the hail was golfball sized and up and that it damaged every skylight in the facility, cracking if not shattering every one.
Other animals that received injuries are being treated by their onsite vets. The zoo is set to open late today around noon.
