Summer’s heat will be making a return this week as temperatures build into the weekend across the South and West. For today, a Heat Advisory continues in South Texas near Corpus Christi and Laredo. High temperatures will be reaching the mid to upper 90s near the coast and above the century point inland. High humidity levels will push the heat index above 110 degrees.

The heat is beginning to build across Northwest as well. A Heat Advisory has been posted into this evening for interior sections of Idaho in the Magic Valley. Record highs near 100 are possible.

Triple digit heat will be expanding once again in the Southwest as temperatures are expected to reach oppressive levels later this week. Excessive Heat Watches have been posted from Phoenix to Los Angeles.

The mercury will once again exceed 110 degrees starting Wednesday in Arizona. The excessive heat is expected to continue at least through the weekend.
The heatwave in California will begin on Thursday and should continue through the weekend. The hottest temperatures are expected on Friday and Saturday. Thermometers will be above the century point for interior areas and well into the 90s closer to the Pacific Ocean.
