Heavy Rain For Parts of Illinois, Wisconsin and Indiana Tuesday and Wednesday
More heavy rain in the forecast Tuesday and Wednesday…this time for the Middle Mississippi and Ohio Valleys. A large area of low pressure moving over the Central Plains will continue to push east and northeast through Wednesday morning. As this low moves east, it will tap into plenty of moisture out of the Gulf Of Mexico and produce scattered showers and thunderstorms Tuesday morning and Tuesday afternoon.
Any showers and storms that develop will last long enough to potentially produce flash flooding in parts of Illinois, Indiana and even Ohio. This heavy rain will likely push into southern Wisconsin by Tuesday night and drop some heavy rain as well.
You can see all the moisture out ahead of this system on the dew point temperature map. Some areas of Missouri, Illinois and Indiana will have dew point temperatures in the upper 60s and lower 70s. That means the atmosphere is very saturated and is holding a lot of available moisture for heavy rain potential. Drier weather will be moving into the region by the end of the work week.
