Heavy Rain Possible for the Pacific Northwest this Weekend

12 Dec 2017, 2:52 pm

The active weather forecast could return to the Pacific Northwest by the end of the weekend.  This particular setup could lead to some areas of heavy rain for Washington.

Heavy Rain Setup

An area of low pressure moving out of the Gulf of Alaska will be pushing south towards the Pacific Northwest by the end of the upcoming weekend.  This low pressure system will have plenty of Pacific moisture to work with and should create some heavy showers for the end of the weekend and early next week.

Rainfall Forecast

Here is the rainfall forecast into early next week.  You can clearly see some heavy rain rainfall over parts of western Washington.  Accumulation totals could be near 3 inches for some areas leading to the potential of flash flooding.

The extended forecast is showing the potential for heavy rain starting Thursday and lasting through the weekend.
