Increasing snow chances are on the way for the Central Rockies by the end of the weekend and early next week. At the moment, it looks like there could be heavy snow for parts of Colorado and Utah through Tuesday night.
Heavy Snow Set-Up
An area of low pressure moving into the Central Rockies will have abundant moisture to work with in the upper-levels of the atmosphere. The lift associated with this low pressure will likely trigger widespread snow showers with up to 1 foot of snowfall in the mountains and the potential for 1 to 6 inches for the lower levels.
There will likely be changes over the next few days with the location of the heaviest snowfall and the snowfall amounts. Forecast models are in good agreement of a snow producing system moving through the Rockies late in the weekend and early next week. Keep checking back with WeatherNation for the very latest.
