Heavy Snow Continues in the Western Great Lakes

11 Apr 2017, 9:38 am

A round of heavy snow continues across the Upper Peninsula of Michigan this morning, with several more inches ahead. The slushy snow is making for slow travel conditions in portions of the Upper Midwest this morning where heavy snow fell last night.

A Winter Storm Warning continues into this afternoon for the central sections of the U.P. of Michigan. An additional 2″ – 4″ may fall into the early afternoon. Some lake enhancement is occurring with the wind flow off of Lake Superior, increasing totals with added moisture.

The low pressure center will push away from the region into the Northeast this evening. Snowfall will gradually come to an end this afternoon.
