A round of heavy rain and snow will push into the Pacific Northwest over the next couple of days. Along the coast, rainfall totals could exceed 5″. Snowfall totals in the Cascade Mountains will be over a foot into Friday.

Flash Flood Watches continue along the coast, with Winter Storm Warnings in the higher elevations. Power outages may occur and travel could be difficult.

The wind will be brisk as well, with gusts over 50 mph possible in the highest mountain peaks and at the coast.

The mountains of California have already have a head start on the snow, with a few areas approaching half a foot. As the low pressure center moves ashore tonight, rain and snow totals will increase throughout the region.
