The wind is howling in the Four Corners and heavy snow is falling in the mountains of the west. The wind has peaked above 60 mph in parts of New Mexico as High Wind Warnings have been issued. The strong winds are likely to continue into tonight.
Winter Storm Warnings continue for the Southern Rockies in Colorado and New Mexico, with Winter Weather Advisories in the Cascades and Bitterroots in the Northwest.
Snowfall totals may climb to near a foot in the highest mountain peaks, especially in the Rockies. Lighter snow accumulations will be found in the Tetons and Wasatch Range.
As the cold front near the Four Corner slides into the Southern Plains, snow will come to an end Wednesday. With an area of high pressure moving across the Southwest, the wind will diminish late tonight. In the Northwest, another cold front will push across the area with snowfall likely continue through the end of the week.
