A strong low pressure center is moving through the Upper Midwest, bringing heavy snow into the Northern Plains and the mountains of the Pacific Northwest. The snow was becoming very heavy in the North Dakota with some areas reporting nearly a foot of accumulation with low visibility. Two feet of snow fell on parts of the Sierra Range of California.

More than a foot of snow will fall in several mountain locations of the west, with another 6-12″ possible in parts of North Dakota. Winter Storm Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories continue. The wind will be strong as well, with gusts above 30 mph in some areas.
The snow will continue into this evening, but begin to diminish on Tuesday in the mountains. North Dakota will see snow through Wednesday, along with a brisk breeze.
