High Winds Impact the Northeast
A rude awakening for some on this Friday morning, the day after Halloween, as strong to severe thunderstorms moved through the Northeast. The main concern with these storms were the high winds. Wind damage reports from Massachusetts through Pennsylvania.

Strong winds will continue through the day as the area of low pressure moves across the region.
High winds in NYC lead to a dangerous situation at a construction site earlier this morning as described by Matthew in this tweet:

As this front moves off the coast, the winds will subside and temperatures will be plummeting into the weekend. Out ahead of the front, the air is coming out of the south so highs are above average for most of the northeast. But behind the front, the temperatures are already dropping, as evident in the Mississippi River Valley this morning.
