The first hurricane of the 2017 Atlantic season has formed.

The National Hurricane Center upgraded Franklin Wednesday from a tropical storm to a hurricane on Wednesday afternoon.
Franklin re-intensified over the warm waters of the Bay of Campeche Wednesday.
As of Wednesday afternoon, the storm was moving west at 12 miles per hour. It had a minimum central pressure of 984 mb and max sustained winds of 75 mph.
Hurricane Franklin is set to make landfall later Wednesday night and into early Thursday morning.
