Category 3 Hurricane Seymour has begun to quickly weaken. The eye has become cloud-filled and has cooled rather dramatically. The recent deterioration of the cloud pattern is due to the higher wind shear that hurricane Seymour is now encountering.
The wind shear as of Wednesday afternoon was analyzed in the 15 to 20 knot range, and the shear is forecast to increase tremendously over the next 24 to 36 hours. Current model guidance has Seymour degenerating into a remnant low by Friday.
