A fast moving system will brush the Great Lakes and Northeast with a mixture of ice and snow. Several advisories continue from the Upper Midwest into New England.
Snowfall accumulations of 3″ to 6″ will be common, with a few areas approaching a foot in higher elevations and in the lake effect belts. Sleet and freezing rain accumulations will be minor, but a glaze of ice is possible in several areas.
The low pressure system will push through the Great Lakes into Canada. Ice and snow will gradually lift northward through the Northeast into this evening. By Wednesday afternoon, the moisture will shift north of the region as the low lifts into Canada.
