Incredible heat is once again building into Australia, just in time for the Australian Open. Many tennis players and fans will be roasting in this warmth, with temperatures likely to climb to triple digits (keep in mind, this is their summer). Already, temperatures have been running high (see map below):
Melbourne has been lucky so far, but temperatures are expected to rise as the Australian Open gets underway. Here’s the forecast:
In fact, the Bureau of Meteorology in Australia is forecasting a major heatwave. After last year’s record warm year, forecasters down under now spend time tracking these intense temperature swings. Here’s their analysis:
