Jose continues to show a well-defined eye and it is just beginning to pass the northernmost Leeward Islands.
The Hurricane Hunters said Saturday that the eye has become slightly more asymmetric. Data from the aircraft showed that Jose remains a category 4 hurricane with a minimum central pressure of 945 mb.
Wind shear will be increasing, which will result in a weakening trend throughout the weekend.
Jose is expected to turn more north than west over the next few days.
