Lake Effect Snow Chances for Northern Wisconsin and the Western UP Monday

30 Oct 2017, 11:45 am

Energy wrapping around and area of low pressure over northern Ontario will bring increasing lake effect snow chances to parts of Wisconsin and Michigan Monday.  Winter weather advisories have been issued for parts of the UP of Michigan and north central Wisconsin through Tuesday morning.

What to expect?

Times of heavy snow with accumulations ranging from 1 to 3 inches.  Isolated areas could see upwards of 6 inches of snowfall by early Tuesday.  With snowfall amounts this high and strong winds in the forecast, there will be times of blowing snow and whiteout conditions.

Weather Threats

Snow covered roads, blustery winds and reduced visibility will make travel very difficult.  If you live in this region you will definitely want to use caution while driving.

The latest timing for the heaviest snowfall will be from 8PM Monday to 8AM Tuesday.  This is when visibility will be at it’s lowest.

This is not the only chance for snow this week.  More snow chances are on the way for Wednesday and Thursday.  Keep checking WeatherNation for the very latest.
