Lake Effect Snow near Lake Ontario Tonight
Moderate to heavy lake effect snow bands will push off of Lake Ontario tonight into tomorrow morning. Accumulations up to 6″ are possible, with the heaviest snow squalls arriving later tonight. The area to see the most snowfall is likely to be the Tug Hill region of Upstate New York.

West to northwest winds behind a cold front will sweep cold air across the warmer lake waters of Lake Ontario. By Wednesday afternoon the atmosphere will begin to dry and temperatures aloft will warm slightly, bringing an end to the lake effect snow.
