The lake effect snow machine has not slowed down yet in the Great Lakes and much more snow is on the way. Totals are piling up from Michigan to Wisconsin and Ohio to New York.
Several areas along the Lake Erie and Ontario shores have seen almost a foot of snow and another foot is possible by later this weekend.
The Lake Michigan and Lake Superior snow belts have seen lots of snow as well, adding on several inches today from what accumulated yesterday.
Warnings and advisories continue through the night and into tomorrow. Additional snowfall totals will be well over a foot in the areas that see the heaviest snow squalls.
The lake effect bands will keep going through Saturday evening. As a storm system approaches from the west out in the Plains Saturday night, warmer air and a change in wind direction will diminish many of the snow squalls.
