Louisiana Historic Flooding: National Guard Embed
As heavy rain began to inundate portions of Louisiana, WeatherNation’s team of storm chasers, field correspondents and on-staff EMT began an embed with the Louisiana National Guard. WeatherNation has not only been able to closely document those rescued and the Guardsmen who pulled them out but also take part in many of the rescue operations.
According to Lt. Col. Cameron Magee, commander of 2nd Squadron, 108th Cavalry Regiment, 256th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, The Louisiana National Guard in cooperation with local authorities in Bossier, Webster and Caddo Parishes there has been upwards of 150 civilians, 70 dogs, 16 chickens and even a guinea pig saved.
