This Maine Town Received 99″ of Snow…In 21 Days!

From Boston to Chicago to Nashville, it’s been a rough few weeks in terms of wintry weather for much of the country. But nobody’s had it worse than the hearty folks of Eastport, Maine.

Via the Bangor Daily News, the small village in the eastern tip of the Pine Tree State has received a whopping 99″ of snow in just the last three weeks (since January 27th). The island city is calling on the Maine National Guard to help remove some of the snow, which has come as the result of a series of quick-hitting lows that have dropped feet of snow at a time to Eastport.

The thousand-plus residents of Eastport shouldn’t put away their snow shovels quite yet, though. More snow is on the way for Wednesday night and Thursday, and it could drop yet another 6-12″ on top of the already buried hamlet.

If you have a loved one in Eastport, be sure to buy them a snowblower!
