Major Severe Weather Outbreak Likely Hitting the Midwest Wednesday – What to Expect

Wednesday’s severe risk has been upgraded for the Lower Great Lakes region.

The Storm Prediction Center issued a moderate risk for the areas of:





Wednesday afternoon and through the evening, severe storms capable of producing hail, wind, and even tornadoes will roll across the Midwest. Set ups similar to Wednesday’s have been known to produce widespread, long-lived wind storms known as derechos. By Thursday, the risk for severe weather is lower for the Mid-Atlantic region.
